What we add
We aim to add time, opportunity, income, knowledge, agency, trust and useful capabilities through businesses and products that solve real problems.
Add and multiply more life than you subtract and divide.
When we say life, we don't mean a vague feeling of goodness. We mean changes to the time, choices, health, livelihood, relationships, capabilities and conditions people actually experience.
We aim to add time, opportunity, income, knowledge, agency, trust and useful capabilities through businesses and products that solve real problems.
We multiply useful solutions, access, good judgment, commercial capability and meaningful connections. Scale matters only if the positive effect scales with it.
We choose opportunities where credible commercial returns and beneficial consequences can reinforce each other. We question who benefits, who pays and what happens if it becomes large.
We refuse deception, empty metrics, wasteful spending, exploitative growth and products without a genuine user need. Subtraction itself is not bad; removing harmful things can add life.
We dismantle silos, bureaucracy, gatekeeping, misaligned incentives, repetitive work and systems that break trust. By replacing barriers with clear ownership, access and working processes.
Every decision changes something. And what it changes becomes part of the reality in which the next decision is made.
LAIF is a philosophy and decision framework for looking beyond profit, scale and intention to consider what an action actually creates, amplifies, consumes and fragments.
Everything is a decision.
Name the person, not the market category.
Time, money, independence, access, trust or capability.
Evidence of demand, pricing, cost and repeatability.
Both benefit and downside. Count the tradeoffs.
Waste, misleading claims, incentives or costly complexity.
People, commercial work, systems or capital when appropriate.
LAIF is a decision framework, not a scientifically validated single score. We use observable outcomes and honest judgment rather than inventing mathematical precision.
Do more of what creates life. Multiply what strengthens it. Challenge what takes it away.
Good intentions do not guarantee good outcomes. And a symbol is not a substitute for evidence.
LAIF is how we organise the questions. Sound economics, honest evaluation and real consequences determine what we do next.
